Meet Our Pharmacists
Molly Boutwell, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Molly is originally from Louisburg, NC and has been on staff at Carrboro Family Pharmacy since 2022. She holds a degree in Exercise and Sport Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
Having grown up as the daughter of a pharmacist in central North Carolina and seeing the constant impact her mom had on the lives and health of others, it was only natural that she followed in her footsteps to a career in community pharmacy. She was open to all experiences during pharmacy school, but her community rotations, especially those in independent pharmacies, were what aligned with her passion.
When she’s not at the pharmacy, Molly enjoys staying active by running, cycling, and weight lifting. She also loves cooking, cheering on the Tar Heels, spending time with family and her furry, 4-legged child “Kitty Kitty Kia.”

Keiko Bury, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist & Owner
Keiko is originally from Jacksonville, NC and has worked at Carrboro Family Pharmacy since 2007. She became the owner in 2019. She holds degrees in Science from Coastal Carolina Community College, Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Doctor of Pharmacy from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

As the daughter of a U.S. Marine and Okinawan mother, Keiko became interested in healthcare after seeing the hurdles people in her hometown faced trying to navigate a complicated healthcare system. Under the mentorship of independent pharmacy owners, she learned how to bridge those gaps and help families get the care they needed.
​
Outside of the pharmacy, Keiko enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters at home gardening, cooking and eating. You can also find her training for her next competition at Seven Star Kung Fu Academy where she holds a white belt in Tibetan Hop Gar.

Susan Shughrue, RPh, BCACP, CDE
Clinical Pharmacist
Susan is originally from Towson, MD which is one of the northern suburbs of Baltimore. She worked at Carrboro Family Pharmacy in 2017 and returned in February 2023 when she moved back to Chapel Hill from West Chester, PA. Susan holds degrees in Chemistry from Loyola University and Pharmacy from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Susan first worked as an organic chemist in RTP where most of her work was in a lab. “I realized that I was much more of a people person than I thought I was and wanted to work somewhere I could make more of a personal impact.” She decided to pursue a career in pharmacy so she could learn more about drugs and how to treat disease to help patients find better health.
​
Outside of the pharmacy, you can find Susan outside doing just about anything! She is a proud Mom of 3 kids and loves hiking. Most recently, she hiked to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park--a 16 mile hike 4,800 feet above the valley floor, 8,800 feet above sea level!
